GRAND OPENING-NORTHWEST OHV PARK

The long awaited opening of the City of Bridgeport’s Northwest OHV Park is finally here! A product of many volunteer hours from dedicated off road enthusiasts, a Texas Parks and Wildlife OHV Grant, City of Bridgeport funds and staff.

This 300+ acre park, with 25+ miles of trails is now open to the public every Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Bring your ATVs, Jeeps, motorcycles, Hummers, etc. for a great day of family fun.

The City of Bridgeport’s Parks & Recreation Department invites everyone to celebrate the Grand Opening of Northwest OHV Park Saturday, September 19, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. On site will be various vendor booths, interactive inflatables for the kids, free hot dogs, chips and drinks, free jeep rides and more! Admission is free!

We now have in stock HRP shoulder pads for Leatt braces. These are the best set-up for those of you that use the Leatt. These pads connect in the front to make it very easy to put on and remove. Also, if you are not using a Leatt brace because you are concerned about the interference with your shoulder pads, come in and check these out. By far the best on the market.

Speaking of Husabergs, the 2010's are here. Well, where here. The all new FE390 is sold out until Nov. We had 3 come in and 3 go out. We are currently accepting deposits for the second shipment. It looks as though the total production of 2010 FE390's will be sold upon receiving them. So, waiting to see one is not going to happen unless your catch the roost from a fellow competitor that acted quickly and got a deposit on one early. ATV guys are continuing to whip some butt! Matt and Stephen went 1-2 at the Lawton, OK race this past weekend. Hello all,

Last weekend the name of the game was TQRA Round 6 at Cooperland Mx park in Stillwater, Ok. It was a picture perfect weekend with bright sunshine highs in the mid 90's, and low humidity. Great weather to break out the whooping stick right? With the 30+ A class being the first moto of the day, I started things off right with a holeshot from the last gate pick of 9 riders. The long uphill start at Cooperland is the perfect place for the mighty Max Power Ktm 505sx to show who's really got the gusto. From there the Cooperland track was no match for my Suspension Dynamics suspension as I lead until the checkers for the first moto win.

After intermission, the sun was high and so was the temperature. The second moto being a mirror image of the first. A large holeshot to another moto win. My first perfect day on the "A" class, I'm very excited to be a part of the Action Motorsports team. Again, this all wouldn't be possible without the help of: Action Motorsports KTM, MaxPower, Suspension Dynamics, and Fourwerx Carbon.

[May 20, 2009] Race reports ... Rich LeTendre

Hello all,

The weekend of May 16Th and 17Th Action motor sports and I decided to support Texas ATV cross country racing. So we prepped a new KTM525xc with nerfs a FMF silencer, JD jet kit and an Ohlins steering damper and went to a very muddy Maypearl Texas.

A wet week turned into a very muddy weekend with rain falling on the way to the track and mother nature didn't let up until late afternoon and 3" of rain later. The pits were truly the pits with no rigs going anywhere unless they were being pulled in by a tracked skid steer.

I decided to fore go practice in favor of saving my best stuff for the race and Headed for the starting line for the morning race. Not normally an off road racer, Craig and I decided that probably belonged in the 35+ B class which put me on the 4Th row for the dead engine start.

Once the green flag went up my 525xc instantly lit and I was off to first corner. HOLESHOT! Not seeing the whole course because I sat out practice I rode the first lap with caution, but still quite aggressive when I could. As the laps went on I rode harder and harder and the big KTM loved it. Even in the mud my front end went precisely where I aimed it, the awesome torque had me accelerating very hard with the front wheels up and Ohlins shocks and steering damper kept my arms from getting tired. My last lap was a minute faster than the others and right on par with the A and pro classes that ran on the dry track in the afternoon. I not only won my class but the morning overall by 5 minutes over 2ND.

Thanks to all who continue to help me out, especially Craig at Action Motor sports KTM and Max Power. Craig and I are putting together a program where I can run the Atvccs fall series on a '09 Ktm 525xc in the 30+ "A" class after the TQRA mx series finishes the 8th of August. Go BIG Orange!

Lap times and overall results, ATVCCS

[May 17, 2009] 2010 KTM Models have been introduced to the dealers and the orders are going out as we type this email. The biggest news of the 2010 product line is the addition of the "Champions Models" and the "Six Days Models". All of the KTM models with one of these two model designations will be very limited and deposits are going to be taken starting immediately. Also, there are many models that have been eliminated due to 2009 product still being in the warehouses.

One of the biggest changes that has occurred for 2010 models is the lowering of the main frame. The point at which the frame is welded to the steering stem has been lowered 10mm for many of the adult size bikes and the overall length of the rear shock has been shortened to make the geometry of the bike work. The triple clamps have also been changed to improve handling. New air boxes and air filters also are part of the new line up to reduce water and dirt from entering the box area.

They have also added a 150XC model. This will be a really great! The already awesome 150 with the XC components!

The 450SX is really new! 5 Speed transmission, KTM HPRS titanium head pipe, lowered frame, and the SXS brake calipers are part of the new items for this model. The 450SX-F will be a great cross country bike!

The good news is that we were also able to get some great deals on left over 2009 models. As we get them they will appear on the list you get periodically.

We just received an huge order of helmets in and many of them are marked 50% off!

We also have signed up and placed an order to be a KLIM dealer. Great off-road clothing options!

KTM ATV racers and specifically Action Motorsports ATV racers continue to impress the (Japanese) customers each weekend at the ATVCCS and TQRA events. Our very own self acclaimed "King Richard" is 4 for 4 on his 505SX-F ATV while Matt Christian and Stephen McCuiston are laying down some of the fastest laps and great results on their 450SX-F ATV's. On the Off-Road side of ATV Racing, Matt Horton continues to impress everyone in attendance in his ability to come through the pack on his way to podium finishes. Everyone better look out when Matt Horton gets a clean holeshot!!!!The rest of our KTM ATV Racers are also doing a great job and we appreciate that!

On the bike front, WOW! Kevin and Cassidy (our in house racing staff) are really stepping up their programs this year. Kevin's new 505XC-F and Cassidy's 200XC are about as far apart in technology as they can get, but equally as fast on the track. They are both sitting on top in their classes in the TORN series. We have a great group of riders racing from the Women's class to the 50cc classes and including some of us older types!. Everyone that is representing Action Motorsports is doing a great job and we really appreciate them as well. (I would list them all, but don't want to forget anyone, so I won't).

Anyway, hope you all spend some time with your loved ones for Easter and we sure hope to see you at the races soon!

[March 25, 2009] Great Weekend for KTM –

Near the end of February the KTM Factory Team riders had their best weekend yet. Muscle Milk/MDK/KTM Factory Team rider Martin Davalos earned his first podium of the season with a last lap pass on Blake Wharton to secure 3rd place at the Atlanta Supercross. On the same weekend, David Pearson and Mike Childress won the Adelanto GP, while ten miles away KTM Factory Off-Road WORCS racers Mike Brown and Justin Soulè had a great battle for the first place position with Brown taking the win and Soulè finishing 2nd – a career best for each rider in that series. To top it off, KTM Factory National Enduro riders Russell Bobbitt and Mike Lafferty finished 1-2 at the second round of the AMA National Enduro Series. KTM Factory GNCC rider Cory Buttrick finished 3rd at that race. All this success proves KTM is truly the only "Ready to Race" brand.

[March 17, 2009] This week is the GNC International Final at Oak Hill MX Park here in Decatur. The event lasts all week with practice starting tomorrow (Tuesday) and qualifying starting Wednesday. There will be close to 2000 of the best Amateur Motocross racers trying to prove their worthiness to all the manufacturers in attendance. So, come on by the shop and make a run out to Oak Hill throughout this week and the weekend to check out the best of the best Amateurs.

The 2009 Husaberg FE450 has won the 450 shootout in Dirt Rider Magazine and is going to be named the bike of the year. See, I wasn't crazy after all!

KTM lost David Knight and Juha Salminen to BMW for the 2009 season. Many thought that loosing them was a really bad deal. These two are two of the best off-road racers in the world.....until now! Husaberg's Oriol Mena defeated them in a Spanish national enduro this past weekend. I attached a picture that Husaberg is very proud off. Check it out!

Our newest staff member Rich (King Richard) as many call him, made his debut on the all new 505SX-F ATV last weekend. This was the 2nd round of the TQRA Motocross series. Rich, who hasn't been able to ride in the past 6 months since Wisconsin has been frozen, pulled two holeshots and won both motos on a very stock 505! KTM.......Ready 2 Race!

His dedication to Action Motorsports and our customers doesn't go unnoticed. He stays very late into the evening making sure your bikes or ATV's in the service department get turned around as soon as possible and has done an absolute great job for us.

Many of you may have seen a couple of additional staff members in the service department lately. I really have some very good friends that have been able to come in and help us keep up with our growing needs. Sean Hackley, William Creese, Ken Tolbert, Dave Duwe, Jordan Serieka are all friends that I have called upon and been blessed with their ability to help with anything I ask. That's awesome!

I have been in search of a perminate full time technician for quite some time now. The requirements of this position will include every aspect of the business as well as being a technician, so getting the perfect fit isn't easy. This position will complete our staff and make us the "Race shop for the true racer" that I have envisioned.

A couple of months ago I was blessed with a call from that perfect fit. Rich Le Tendre from the frozen state of Wisconson is joining our team next Monday. We are very excited to have Rich and his family make the move to the Decatur area. Rich will be moving his two great children and his wife Julie down in about 3 weeks. Rich has a great deal of experience in the performance end of the industry and specifically, the ATV side of our industry. He also has fuel injection experience as well. Rich has MMI schooling for both Yamaha and Honda, as well as experience working in a dealerships that include, KTM, Polaris, and Husaberg. Action

Rich is also a very competitive ATV Motocross Racer as he has 3 state championships on his resume. He currently has a new (highly modified) 2008 KTM 450 that he made into a 540 and also has a new 505SX-F waiting for him at Action Motorsports. You will see Rich racing later this spring at the TQRA events on his 505.

[February 11, 2009] We are really excited! We just received the 1st of the only 2 2009 KTM 690 Enduro R's that we will receive this year. With the economy slow, KTM is only shipping a small portion of the street line we ordered. So, once again, if you want a 690 Enduro R, you had better give us a call and put a deposit on it ASAP. No, KTM dealers are getting what they asked for this year.

Also, equally exciting is the start of the ATVCCS and the TQRA series this weekend. The ATV team members will be representing Action Motorsports making us proud. Also, we are only a couple of week

Action Motorsports continues to grow. We just leased another suite here on the property for our ever growing inventory. That makes us 5600 sq. ft. strong. We are also making some changes to the service area to better accomodate the increased number of units we are working on. Check that out next time your at the shop.

Here is a quick update for you on the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act regarding selling products that are designed for a 12 year old or younger. The Feb. 10th date has past and we can not sell any bikes or ATV's at this time that are designed for youth riders 12 years old and younger. Once the testing is done and KTM and Kymco have the certificates in hand that prove the lack of lead over 600 parts per million, we will be back in business. I can only guess how long that is going to take though. We have heard as much as 2 years, but I hope that isn't true.

I contacted both KTM and Kymco this morning to find out their take on selling parts to service the units in question. Both companies told me that the replacement parts were OK to sell. I will let you know if that changes. Many of the Japanese companies are telling their dealer network that they can only sell parts that are internal. For an example: the piston is OK but the cylinder isn't, the tube is OK but the tire isn't. I hope KTM and/or Kymco don't change their policy on that and the parts don't ever become something we can't sell. But, I would get an order in for parts now while we can still sell them......just in case.

We had three of our team riders attend the 5 magics motocross school last weekend. All three had a great time and really learned a lot. Each of them as well as I highly recommend Larry and Carrell. They are really great people! Below is some information regarding their next school:

[February 2, 2009] Well, for those of you Cowboy fans, Sorry, this Pittsburgh area native is going to do a little bragging. Six that is (6) Super Bowl Championships! OK, I feel better!

I would like to take a moment of your time to let you know that we have a new member on the staff at Action Motorsports starting Monday. Kevin McDonald, who previously worked at Decatur Powersports, brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to our team. Kevin will be wearing many hats, as we all do, but his focus will be the parts department. While he races his new 505XC in the TORO and TORN events (and maybe a motocross or two here and there.)

Kyle, who is currently attending UNT, will utilize the somewhat limited hours he spends at the shop, keeping up with our ever changing inventory on the many web sites we use to advertise our great inventory and helping with customers needs.

This is one of a couple of steps we are currently taking to better serve you as we continue to grow. We will keep you all in the loop as changes take place.

New Regulation ... As many of you may have heard, there is a new regulation on items sold for children 12 and younger. The Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act is designed to stop any products that come into the United States and require them to comply to strict lead content requirements. As of February 10, 2009 we have been informed by Kymco (we are waiting on KTM's official word) to halt retail sales of our small ATV's. This will last until the manufacturer has been tested for lead content and the units are approved to be sold. This could take months. Kymco has issued a plan to help the dealers and customers get what they need prior to the February 10, 2009 deadline. Kymco/Action Motorsports are offering a $800.00 discount on the only remaining youth ATV that we have in stock. The 2008 Kymco Mongoose 90 that retails for $1,999.00 will now sell for $1,299.00. One in stock! So, someone is getting a great deal. Give us a call if you are interested in this great deal. As soon as we hear something from KTM, we will let you know. But, those of you racers that will need a bike in the next few months, I highly recommend you figure out how to do it now. It may be quite some time for the testing to be completed and the prices will never be lower.

We are looking for a great Technician and well rounded person. The focus of this position is the Technician position. Applicant must have KTM technician experience, be a self starter as well as self motivated, and able to help in all positions when needed including daily maintenance of the facility. Racing and/or enthusiastic weekend riders are welcome. Applicants must be able to help promote themselves and the dealership, specifically the Service Department.
