About
Action Motorsports KTM, Inc is owned by
Craig Martin. The following is some of Craig’s background
and vision:
As the dealer principal I bring close to 30 years of motorcycle
industry experience to the dealership. I spent the first fifteen
years of my adult life at the dealership level. I have held every
position through these fifteen years including parts, service,
parts manager, service manager, sales, sales manager, and general
manager. The next couple of years I managed a manufacturer/distributor
of off-road apparel. Through the years I took on the best in
both motocross and off-road as a racer. I worked my way up from
a beginner to a professional competing professionally in Motocross,
National Hare Scrambles, GNCC, and Arenacross events. In 1985
I was awarded a Kawasaki Team Green ride to race motocross. In
1986 I switched to a support ride from Husqvarna to compete in
the 6 day qualifiers and more off-road events. In 1995 I took
a position at Kawasaki Motors Corp. as the West Coast Off-road
Technician for the Kawasaki Team Green race program. I was responsible
for all off-road track side support in the western states and
attended a few of the larger motocross events when needed. I
was also responsible for building and maintaining our factory
off-road bikes that competed in the Baja 500, Baja 1000, and
Best of the Desert Vegas to Reno events. In my ten years at Kawasaki
I also spent two years as the sole person responsible for preparing
all off-road motorcycle products that were to go to the media
for the purpose of evaluation. I also attended all tests and
provided technical support creating a great relationship with
many of today’s media giants. I spent my last 7 years at
Kawasaki as the Motocross Supervisor for the Kawasaki Team Green
program. In this position I was responsible for hiring, coaching,
and guiding our young amateur racers and their families as they
pursued their goals. I was privileged to work with many of today’s
stars including James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto, and Mike Alessi.
In the late summer of 2004 I left Kawasaki to move to Texas to
take over the management of Oak Hill MX Park along with Donna
and Richard White. I have fell in love with the great state of
Texas and am digging in. My interest in KTM stems from long ago
when I worked at Kawasaki. I saw the great products they had
and was always frustrated that the big Japanese companies couldn’t
react to customer needs as fast. KTM has such specific use motorcycles
and fit the needs for each and everyone. I couldn’t take
it and purchased a KTM to dual sport in California. I loved the
bike and feel in love with the brand. Everyone at KTM is young
and enthusiastic with great passion for the sport. I am very
excited to continue that enthusiasm and passion through my dealership.
